Top 115 - First Songs

So I spent 2 weeks digging through dozens of song lists to see what people were choosing as their first dance song as a couple.  I pulled lists from all of the places I could find and sorted them all out. Then I picked out the ones that showed up multiple times and it sifted out a whopping 115 songs that people are choosing to use as “their song”. That first magical dance in front of friends and family.  And here they are!

DIY - "Will you be my Bridesmaid?"

I wanted to do something extra special for my girls when I asked them to be my Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor - I wanted to DIY something that shows how much I appreciate them and how I feel so honored to have them by my side on my wedding day! After trying a DIY puzzle *which failed miserably - evidently I bought the wrong type of paint*, decided on a homemade card with a personalized message on the back, and shopping online for a fun gift to send along...this is what I came up with! :)

I made the Card out of Zebra Cardstock, Teal Cardstock, and added Zebra ribbon and jewels as accents to make it pop a little! I found a really great poem online and printed it up and placed it on the front. On the back of the cards I wrote a very personal message to each of the girls letting them know how much they mean to me and how I would feel honored to have them by my side on my wedding day.

A card is never enough for me - I always have to go above and beyond the expectations so I started looking online for something fun to send along with it. I came across these really cute Corset Cookies made by Lori from Lori's Place! I knew I just HAD TO HAVE THEM - So I contacted Lori and within 1 day I had my order all set up and ready to go! I must note that Lori is great! She even got my cookies to me earlier than she told me! (Which in my book, deserve MAJOR kudos!) So if you are looking for a really fun, unique gift or cookies in general, definitly check out Lori's Place on Etsy!

Here's all the different corsets I got! Did I mention...I LOVE THESE COOKIES!? :)

I've already give this to one of my bridesmaids - she cried when I gave it to her! She called her Mom (which is like a mom to me) and she cried, too! I think I make a good choice on who to stand next to me! I am going to deliver the other cookies/cards this weekend! I hope I get the same reaction out of every girl! They truly are my very best friends and I am just delighted that they have agreed to be in my wedding!

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 5 - Fav. Quote

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 5 - Favorite Quote

I'm not really sure I have a favorite quote...there are so many out there in the world. I am going to say that I really like:

"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." - Sir Cecil Beaton

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 4 - Fav. Book

30 Day Blog Journal - Day 4 - Favorite Book

I have never been one to read books - although lately I have been reading books that cover "All things weddings!" But I can't really say any of those are my favorite. I think I am going to have to go with a tie between...

1. Twilight
When Bella Swan moves from sunny Phoenix to Forks, Washington, a damp and dreary town known for the most rainfall in the United States, to live with her dad, she isnt expecting to like it. But the level of hostility displayed by her standoffish high school biology lab partner, Edward Cullen, surprises her. After several strange interactions, his preternatural beauty, strength, and speed have her intrigued. Edward is just as fascinated with Bella, and their attraction to one another grows. As Bella discovers more about Edwards nature and his family, she is thrown headlong into a dangerous adventure that has her making a desperate sacrifice to save her one true love. One of the more original vampire constructs around, this recording of Stephenie Meyers debut novel (Megan Tingley Books, 2005) is narrated with great style by Ilyana Kadushin, who makes the infinitely romantic tale of star-crossed lovers resonate with a bittersweet edge. Although Edward and Bellas romance and subsequent danger develops slowly, the pacing is appropriate for teens who want learn all the details in this suspenseful tale. An excellent purchase for both school and public libraries.–Charli Osborne, Oxford Public Library, MI

2. Why Men Love Bitches
Contending that some women are "too nice," comedian and radio show host Sherry Argov has written Why Men Love Bitches: From Doormat to Dreamgirl-A Woman's Guide to Holding Her Own in a Relationship. "I'm not recommending that a woman have an abrasive disposition," Argov writes, "The woman I'm describing is kind yet strong. She doesn't give up her life, and she won't chase a man." Her sassy book is filled with scenarios and advice aimed at making women subtly stronger and self-empowered. Argov's principles, which range from the farfetched to the downright absurd, include "If you give him a feeling of power, he'll want to protect you and he'll want to give you the world" and "A little distance combined with the appearance of self-control makes him nervous that he may be losing you." The book, which has already been featured on The View and The O'Reilly Factor, should make waves with its controversial view of relationships.

Do you know of any "Must Reads"? I would like to look into any & all suggestions! :)

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 2 - Favorite Movie

Movies have always been a large part of my life - I am a VIP member at my local theater - I always watch movies on opening night (sometimes more if I really like it) and I own over 350 DVDs! I also have a subscription to NetFlix and Best Buy Cinema! I really, really like my movies!

It's going to be really hard to narrow it down to just 1 movie...

No matter all the great & wonderful pieces of cinema history I have seen and LOVE, I always fall back on one film, the one that I always put in if I am bored, lonely, or just wanting a good laugh...

Dazed & Confused - a total stoner film, but I can't help, I love this movie! The cars, music, and storyline - epic! :)

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 1 - Favorite Song

So Day 1 of my 30 Day Blog Journal is my Favorite Song! Music has always been very important to me - it gets me through the great times as well as the tough and overbearing times. Deciding on my FAVORITE song is going to be a tough one! There are so many great artist's and songs out there right now!

I'm going to go with "Lucky" by Jason Mraz & Colby Calliat - FS & I Have actually been thinking of having this as our "First Song" at our Wedding Reception! It just a really fun, light feeling and its really cute & romantic. When I hear it I can't help but start singing and tapping my foot!

So what is your favorite song? I would love to hear it! :) Leave & comment and let me know!

I am officially the "Future Mrs. Higgins"

Yesterday was nothing less than perfect! It was about 76 degree's outside with the sun shining bright - no clouds in the sky. DS was at school for the day so it was just be and my (now) FH (!!!) at home. I have been giving him crap about us getting married for 6 months now...let me give you our history...

Future Mr. & Mrs. Higgins

We have been dating for 3 1/2 glorious years and living together for 1 year and 6 months, at the beginning of this year I was asking about us getting married as anyone lady wants to know. He made the promise to me that I would have my ring THIS YEAR - my mind instantly started dreaming about wedding dresses, flower bouquets and of course, the bachelorette party! Ever since he promised me my ring I have been asking weekly when I was going to get it. Yesterday was no different!

I was messing with him saying that after lunch we would get dressed, go buy my ring, and then go buy his new MacBook that he has wanted for a few weeks now and we would BOTH be happy campers. I heard him walking upstairs and I'm thinking "Oh lord, whats he going to tell me now?" and I see a ring box in his hand. He hands it to, tells me if I would just be PATIENT and let things happen I would have my ring soon enough - I opened up the box - and it was a GORGEOUS diamond ring. He looked at me and asked if I would marry him, I of course said "YES!" and with tears rolling down my face, I put it on. Beautiful fit and I couldnt have asked for a more perfect ring or future husband.

I gave him a huge hug, and the most perfect piece of the day was feeling his heart beat 90-to-nothing. Shows that even if he knew I would say Yes, he was still nervous/excited to ask me. Perfect ending to a Perfect day!

My Engagement Ring

So now I have started this blog to help me keep all my wedding planning ideas in one place and to meet other bride's to help with advice, ideas, and stress relivers!
