DIY - Girls Night Out

January is the start a many things...a New Year, a new resolution, a new attitude, and my newest favorite - New Wedding Shows!

This coming weekend there are 2 big Wedding Expo's in my area so I have invited my Bridesmaids on a Girls Weekend! Wedding Expo by day, Downtown Get Down by Night!

I wanted to Thank them in a way more than just making a card or giving a verbal Thank you for the girls taking the time out of their busy schedule to give me an entire weekend of their time - so I have put together a "Girls Weekend Survival Kit"!

Here's the Breakdown:

Buttons:
I have been looking for Buttons for us to wear while at the Bridal Shows but I just couldn't find any that appealed to me - they, in one word were, BORING! So I decided to go to my local craft store - get some Button Kits & Make my own, here's what I came up with:

Hangover Kits:
Due in large part that we are getting a hotel room downtown for Saturday Night and plan on going out and having a good time with just the girls, I thought a Hangover kit would be the perfect addition to this Girls Weekend Survival Kit!
Kit Includes:
1 pack of Saltine Crackers
2 Hello Kitty Bandaides
1 Lip Smackers
1 Tang Electrolite Drink Mix
1 pkg of Chewable Pepto
1 pkg of Extra Strength Tylenol
1 Hair Tye
1 Make Up Remover Wipe
1 Small pack of Gum
1 Pkg of Drinkin' Mate - Hangover Medicine
(All items were purchased at http://www.minimus.biz/ <- Love this site!)

First Picture shows what is in each kit, the Second Picture is the finished Hangover Kits!

Finished Product:
Other things found inside the bag - a feather boa in their favorite color, which also matches the bag it is in, a pink shot glass that says "Girls Night Out" and a little baggie of 4 Mardi Gras Beads! I purchased Zebra Print tissue paper from Hobby Lobby, the bags from Party City, the Zebra Ribbon from Hobby Lobby and the Name plates on the bags I created myself using Sticker Paper & Scrapbook paper.

My next project is to work on the Address Labels for the Wedding Expo & The Jello Shot stickers! Yep thats how we  roll - we are getting together tomorrow (Friday Night) to mix up some Jello Shots for Saturday Night!

Wedding Date Set!

So I have been (im)patiently waiting for today *Jan 1st* to start planning our wedding! We have been engaged since October 5th and decided we wouldn't start planning the details until the beginning of the New Year, we both decided to survive the holidays and the stress that tags along with it before we added to our pile!

We now officially have our date set *which was the date I wanted anyways, its our Anniversary now & happened to fall on a Saturday in 2012 so it was perfect*

March 17th, 2012

Now to start the details of planning - our wedding party has been chosen - now we have to decide if we want a big wedding here at home in STL or if we want a small, intimate wedding somewhere tropical like Jamaica!

Choices....choices!

Let the Bridezilla Moments BEGIN!

Top 115 - First Songs

So I spent 2 weeks digging through dozens of song lists to see what people were choosing as their first dance song as a couple.  I pulled lists from all of the places I could find and sorted them all out. Then I picked out the ones that showed up multiple times and it sifted out a whopping 115 songs that people are choosing to use as “their song”. That first magical dance in front of friends and family.  And here they are!

DIY - "Will you be my Bridesmaid?"

I wanted to do something extra special for my girls when I asked them to be my Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor - I wanted to DIY something that shows how much I appreciate them and how I feel so honored to have them by my side on my wedding day! After trying a DIY puzzle *which failed miserably - evidently I bought the wrong type of paint*, decided on a homemade card with a personalized message on the back, and shopping online for a fun gift to send along...this is what I came up with! :)

I made the Card out of Zebra Cardstock, Teal Cardstock, and added Zebra ribbon and jewels as accents to make it pop a little! I found a really great poem online and printed it up and placed it on the front. On the back of the cards I wrote a very personal message to each of the girls letting them know how much they mean to me and how I would feel honored to have them by my side on my wedding day.

A card is never enough for me - I always have to go above and beyond the expectations so I started looking online for something fun to send along with it. I came across these really cute Corset Cookies made by Lori from Lori's Place! I knew I just HAD TO HAVE THEM - So I contacted Lori and within 1 day I had my order all set up and ready to go! I must note that Lori is great! She even got my cookies to me earlier than she told me! (Which in my book, deserve MAJOR kudos!) So if you are looking for a really fun, unique gift or cookies in general, definitly check out Lori's Place on Etsy!

Here's all the different corsets I got! Did I mention...I LOVE THESE COOKIES!? :)

I've already give this to one of my bridesmaids - she cried when I gave it to her! She called her Mom (which is like a mom to me) and she cried, too! I think I make a good choice on who to stand next to me! I am going to deliver the other cookies/cards this weekend! I hope I get the same reaction out of every girl! They truly are my very best friends and I am just delighted that they have agreed to be in my wedding!

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 5 - Fav. Quote

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 5 - Favorite Quote

I'm not really sure I have a favorite quote...there are so many out there in the world. I am going to say that I really like:

"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." - Sir Cecil Beaton
