Top 115 - First Songs

So I spent 2 weeks digging through dozens of song lists to see what people were choosing as their first dance song as a couple.  I pulled lists from all of the places I could find and sorted them all out. Then I picked out the ones that showed up multiple times and it sifted out a whopping 115 songs that people are choosing to use as “their song”. That first magical dance in front of friends and family.  And here they are!

DIY - "Will you be my Bridesmaid?"

I wanted to do something extra special for my girls when I asked them to be my Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor - I wanted to DIY something that shows how much I appreciate them and how I feel so honored to have them by my side on my wedding day! After trying a DIY puzzle *which failed miserably - evidently I bought the wrong type of paint*, decided on a homemade card with a personalized message on the back, and shopping online for a fun gift to send along...this is what I came up with! :)

I made the Card out of Zebra Cardstock, Teal Cardstock, and added Zebra ribbon and jewels as accents to make it pop a little! I found a really great poem online and printed it up and placed it on the front. On the back of the cards I wrote a very personal message to each of the girls letting them know how much they mean to me and how I would feel honored to have them by my side on my wedding day.

A card is never enough for me - I always have to go above and beyond the expectations so I started looking online for something fun to send along with it. I came across these really cute Corset Cookies made by Lori from Lori's Place! I knew I just HAD TO HAVE THEM - So I contacted Lori and within 1 day I had my order all set up and ready to go! I must note that Lori is great! She even got my cookies to me earlier than she told me! (Which in my book, deserve MAJOR kudos!) So if you are looking for a really fun, unique gift or cookies in general, definitly check out Lori's Place on Etsy!

Here's all the different corsets I got! Did I mention...I LOVE THESE COOKIES!? :)

I've already give this to one of my bridesmaids - she cried when I gave it to her! She called her Mom (which is like a mom to me) and she cried, too! I think I make a good choice on who to stand next to me! I am going to deliver the other cookies/cards this weekend! I hope I get the same reaction out of every girl! They truly are my very best friends and I am just delighted that they have agreed to be in my wedding!

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 5 - Fav. Quote

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 5 - Favorite Quote

I'm not really sure I have a favorite quote...there are so many out there in the world. I am going to say that I really like:

"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." - Sir Cecil Beaton

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 4 - Fav. Book

30 Day Blog Journal - Day 4 - Favorite Book

I have never been one to read books - although lately I have been reading books that cover "All things weddings!" But I can't really say any of those are my favorite. I think I am going to have to go with a tie between...

1. Twilight
When Bella Swan moves from sunny Phoenix to Forks, Washington, a damp and dreary town known for the most rainfall in the United States, to live with her dad, she isnt expecting to like it. But the level of hostility displayed by her standoffish high school biology lab partner, Edward Cullen, surprises her. After several strange interactions, his preternatural beauty, strength, and speed have her intrigued. Edward is just as fascinated with Bella, and their attraction to one another grows. As Bella discovers more about Edwards nature and his family, she is thrown headlong into a dangerous adventure that has her making a desperate sacrifice to save her one true love. One of the more original vampire constructs around, this recording of Stephenie Meyers debut novel (Megan Tingley Books, 2005) is narrated with great style by Ilyana Kadushin, who makes the infinitely romantic tale of star-crossed lovers resonate with a bittersweet edge. Although Edward and Bellas romance and subsequent danger develops slowly, the pacing is appropriate for teens who want learn all the details in this suspenseful tale. An excellent purchase for both school and public libraries.–Charli Osborne, Oxford Public Library, MI

2. Why Men Love Bitches
Contending that some women are "too nice," comedian and radio show host Sherry Argov has written Why Men Love Bitches: From Doormat to Dreamgirl-A Woman's Guide to Holding Her Own in a Relationship. "I'm not recommending that a woman have an abrasive disposition," Argov writes, "The woman I'm describing is kind yet strong. She doesn't give up her life, and she won't chase a man." Her sassy book is filled with scenarios and advice aimed at making women subtly stronger and self-empowered. Argov's principles, which range from the farfetched to the downright absurd, include "If you give him a feeling of power, he'll want to protect you and he'll want to give you the world" and "A little distance combined with the appearance of self-control makes him nervous that he may be losing you." The book, which has already been featured on The View and The O'Reilly Factor, should make waves with its controversial view of relationships.

Do you know of any "Must Reads"? I would like to look into any & all suggestions! :)
